Interactive RetroFlow

A fast, fun, light-weight flowcharting program

Interactive RetroFlow

Interactive RetroFlow is an open-source, light-weight flowcharting program with the emphasis on:

  • Simplicity.
  • Ease of use.
  • Short learning curve.
  • Fast creation of charts.
  • Easy modification of charts.
  • Extensive built-in help documentation.
  • Pragmatic flowcharts.

Interactive RetroFlow strives to be a "sports charter", the flowcharting equivalent of a sports car. It's light, fast, fun and does a great job at what it was designed to do. But if you need the flowcharting equivalent of a dump truck or an 18-wheeler then Interactive RetroFlow is probably not the best choice.

If you are looking for a flowcharter that is dripping with oodles of features and can produce the most amazing eye-candy then best to look elsewhere; Interactive RetroFlow doesn't aspire to generating eye-candy. On the other hand, if you are looking for a flowcharter that is easy to use and which can quickly crank out useful charts, then you've come to the right place.

Interactive RetroFlow has real, built-in help - it doesn't just dump you into a browser and hope you have internet connectivity. The built-in help is fast, always available and context sensitive.

By "pragmatic flowcharts" we mean that Interactive RetroFlow's goal is to make it easy for you to create and maintain flowcharts that convey information. Making those charts glorious, elaborate or painfully pretty takes a very definite second place to simplicity and ease of use.

Interactive RetroFlow is written in Real Python, which is to say Python 2.7. Don't even get us started on that imposter language that claims to be Python but isn't.
